Cyclocross 101 Clinic

Come practice your skills and get ready for the season. If you are new to Cyclocross, or want to brush up on your skills, this is a great clinic for you. Open to men, women and kid’s, any bike can be used but preferably a Cyclocross bike with mountain bike shoes and pedals works best. Helmets required.
This clinic will give you a non-competitive venue to learn more about Cyclocross and practice some of the sport specific skills involved with Cyclocross. If you have a friend just starting Cyclocross, this clinic is a must. Your clinic instructors include Ottawa’s top female cyclocrosser and one of Ottawa’s finest bicycle fitters. Some of the topics and skills we will go over time permitting: • History and overview of Cyclocross • Bike Fitting & Body setup • Cornering 101 • Dismounts -Remounts -Introduction to carries -Barriers and stairs • Starts and Practice Drills, Course inspections when racing • Clothing choices & weather discussion •
This clinic will take place on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at our 5607 Hazeldean Rd (Stittsville) location and will start at 6:00pm. We will meet at the stores parking lot and then will bike over to the Walter Baker Park shortly after everyone arrives.
